STUDENT PAPER CONTEST FINALISTS

The MWSCAS 2005 Organizing Committee congratulates the 10 finalists in the 2005 Student Paper Contest.

Finalists were chosen from a total of 120 contest submissions, on the basis of

--significance of results

--originality of results

--thoroughness of research

--clarity of exposition

We would like to thank all the students who entered the contest. The large number of excellent submissions made the judges' task a difficult one.

Finalists will present their papers Monday morning, August 8, in the Radisson Hotel's Commonwealth Room. Information about the finalists' papers and presentation times is listed here. From the ten finalists, three winning students will be chosen. Judges will consider both the written papers and the oral presentations in selecting the winners. Each finalist will have 20 minutes for their presentation and any questions. Winners will receive cash prizes. Winners will be announced at lunch on Tuesday.
