Dr. Rui (April) Dai is an Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computing Systems at University of Cincinnati. She received her B.S. and M.S. degrees from the Department of Electronics and Information Engineering, Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST), Wuhan, China, in 2004 and 2007, respectively. She received her Ph.D. degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta, GA. in 2011, under the supervision of Prof. Ian. F. Akyildiz in the Broadband Wireless Networking Laboratory. She was a postdoctoral fellow at the Center for Assistive Technology and Environmental Access of Georgia Tech from 2011 to 2012. More recently, she was an Assistant Professor at the Department of Computer Science at North Dakota State University.
At University of Cincinnati, Dr. Dai is leading the Multimedia Networking and Computing Laboratory with major research thrusts in multimedia communications in emerging network architectures, wireless sensor networks, sensor systems for healthcare applications, and cyber-physical systems.
