Undergraduate Degree Programs


Electrical engineering drives and enables high-tech industries. Electrical engineers shape the design and manufacturing processes for microelectronics, control systems, signal processing, space systems, computers, lasers and photonics, and many other forms of technology that impact the quality of our lives.

Electrical engineering concepts are at the forefront of advances in biomedicine, rstudents2enewable energy, intelligent systems, and nanotechnologies.

Our undergraduate Electrical Engineering program begins with foundational courses and builds to offer a broad spectrum of electives and minors as well as several multidisciplinary opportunities including: biomedical electronics and computing, electrical energy and the SmartGrid, nanoscience and nanotechnology, and embedded systems.

Students who want to pursue advanced studies in Electrical Engineering can work towards either an MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering. Also, undergraduate students should consider the ACCEND program as well.


Computer engineers develop advancements in radio, television, radar, transistors, computers, and robotics. This field encompasses a wide range of topics including operating systems, computer architecture, computer networks, robotics, artificial intelligence, and computer-aided design.

Our graduates specialize in thcomputer & electrical engineering studentse design and analysis of computer hardware, computer software, and the manufacture and installation of computer chips, circuit boards, computer systems, and accessories.

Computer and electrical engineering are the driving forces behind today’s high-tech industry. Our undergraduate Computer Engineering program begins with foundational courses and builds to offer a broad spectrum of electives and minors in a variety of multidisciplinary areas. Because Computer and Electrical Engineering are closely related fields, many of the core courses taken by Computer Engineering majors are the same as those taken by Electrical Engineering majors.

Students who want to pursue advanced studies in Computer Engineering can work towards either an MS in Computer Engineering or a PhD in Computer Science & Engineering. 


Computer Scientists design and build computational information processing systems by following scientific theories of computation. Our graduates apply their broad knowledge of computing to give businesses an edge in the marketplace, develop next generation applications and services, develop new database and file systems, tap the social wisdom on the web to find trends, build medical software to increase the quality of care, as well as develop methods to better analyze scientific and engineering data.

Our graduate degrees in Computer Science enable students to focus in the above research areas and enable students to gain a in-depth knowledge of computing. Students may pursue a Master of Science, a Master of Engineering, or a PhD in Computer Science and Engineering.


Electrical engineering technologists apply the principles of electrical engineering to real-world problems. They work in all areas where electrical coElectrical & Computer Engineering studentsmponents and computers exist. Electrical Engineering Technology students design and work with electrical and electronic equipment, electric power generation and transmission, automatic control theory and implementation, robotic control, modern instrumentation, and sensors.

The Electrical Engineering Technology (EET) program prepares undergraduate students to design and install all types of electrical instrumentation as well as computers and their networks.

For EET students who wish to focus more on computer science, we offer a computer engineering technology track that focuses more intensively on computer applications such as microprocessor and high-level language programming, computer architecture, networking data communications, and hardware interfacing.

engineering graduatesThe Accelerated Engineering Degree (ACCEND) program allows students in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering to earn their BS and MS degrees in only five years. While getting their BS in Computer or Electrical Engineering, students can also work toward an

  • MS in engineering. This track is great for students interested in research and greater depth of understanding in a particular field of engineering. They often go on to PhD programs or work in fields that require more specialized knowledge.
  • MEng degree. The MEng appeals to students that want to focus on the practice of engineering. This is a great way to gain pragmatic skills and knowledge that enable students to make greater contributions to technical organizations.
  • MBA degree. Students who want to understand both the technical and business sides of an organization benefit greatly from this track. Graduates of this program have increased value in the job market and are prepared to take on management roles earlier in their careers.
