MASS-2004
STUDENT TRAVEL GRANTS
NSF Travel Support Grants for Graduate
Students
NSF would like to encourage graduate students' participation in the
MASS conference and affiliated tutorials by partially funding the
travel costs of individuals who would otherwise be unable to attend the
conference.
Who should apply
Any graduate student who is co-author on a regular or poster paper,
regardless of nationality, may apply. This grant will pay travel and
accommodation costs up to $750 based on the need. We anticipate twenty
(20) awards. The selection process will give preference to graduate
students with regular papers and without sufficient travel funding.
How to apply
Applications and supporting letters for a student travel grant should
be emailed to Program Co-Chair Professor Jie Wu at jie@cse.fau.edu <mailto:jie@cse.fau.edu>
and cc to Mingming Lu at mlu2@fau.edu <mailto:mlu2@fau.edu>, as soon as
possible, but no later than September 24, 2004. Award announcements
will be made around October 1, 2004.
Applications should include:
-
The application should include the
title of the paper and the need for the travel grant (air fare and
other anticipated cost).
-
Applicant's school: Priority will be
given for travel within North America. Travel by non-US applicants is
subjected to NSF approval.
-
A letter of recommendation from the
student's advisor: The advisor should clarify whether other sources of
funding are available.
-
The awardee will be required to submit
original receipts for reimbursement of the awarded funds. All receipts
covering the expenses need to be mailed to the General Chair Prof.
Dharma Agrawal, ECECS, Box. 210030, University of Cincinnati, OH
45221-0030. No reimbursement is possible without original receipts.
